“For those who think Syrian refugee children are permanently doomed and have nothing to live for, I present to you two examples of the so-called “lost generation” Mohamad and Zeidan in 7th grade. They are smart and motivated. They are also leaders in their school, the Salam School in Reyhanli, Turkey. Mohamad and Zeidan are elected representatives serving the student body government. They make important decisions on behalf of their fellow students to make their school a better place. These young boys understand freedom, justice, and now exercises in democracy – where every voice matters, matter how small. They are the future leaders of Syria and are focused on building a better future for all Syrians. Are you?”lina
