Prof. Ipek Türeli and her students in the studio course ‘Design and Construction 2’ at McGill University’s School of Architecture invite you to the opening of the exhibition ‘Amal: The Resilient School.

Amal, Arabic for “hope”, is an elementary school for traumatized Syrian refugee children in Turkey. McGill students designed a “type” school and proposed how they will be placed in relationship to each other in a given camp; and how they may share resources as a network of elementary schools. This exhibition showcases the students’ propositions on how educational buildings and school architecture can respond to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

This event seeks to support the fundraising efforts of the Syrian Kids Foundation’s Al-Salam School in Reyhanli, Turkey [syriankids.ca], donors at the vernissage will receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition catalogue.

La Professeure Ipek Tureli et ses élèves vous invitent au vernissage de l’exposition «Amal : l’école résiliente», présentée dans le cadre du cours «Design et Construction 2» à l’École d’architecture de l’université McGill.

L’École Amal, nommée d’après le mot «espoir» en Arabe, est une école primaire pour enfants syriens réfugiés en Turquie. Les étudiants ont proposés une école ‘type’ de manières à mettre en relation l’école et les autres facilités d’un camp de réfugiés, tout en partageant les ressources physiques et éducatives. Cette exposition met en valeur les propositions des étudiants pour répondre à une crise humanitaire.

Cet évènement à pour but d’offrir son soutient aux levées de fond de l’école Al-Salam du Syrian Kids Foundation à Reyhanlı, Turquie [syriankids.ca], les donateurs et donatrices recevront un exemplaire gratuit du catalogue de l’exposition.
