šŸ“šEvery donation = one more child in the classroom.

The reality is that the number of students we can welcome at the Al Salam Center of Culture and Science depends entirely on the support we receive. Right now, we have a long waitlist of Syrian refugee children who are eager to learn, grow, and rebuild their futuresā€”but we can only accept as many students as our funding allows.

With your help, we can expand our reach and support more children.

šŸ”¹ How you can make an impact:

1ļøāƒ£ Donate: ā€”every dollar goes directly to supporting a childā€™s education.

2ļøāƒ£ Share this post to spread awareness.

3ļøāƒ£ Sponsor a student to give them a brighter future.

Letā€™s come together to serve our community as much as possible!

Over the summer, students embarked on an exciting project where they were challenged to construct bridges out of popsicle sticks! They explored creative ways to meet the bridge’s guidelines, which pushed them to develop critical problem-solving skills and think outside the box. Hands-on STEM activities like this not only foster a deep sense of creativity and innovation but also give students the opportunity to apply real-world engineering concepts in a fun, engaging way. Watching their ideas come to life was an inspiring reminder of the power of learning by doing!

To support our learnerā€™s education and creative development, you can donate here.

At Al Salam’s Center of Science and Culture, all of our teachers are Syrian refugees. They play a crucial role in helping students integrate into Turkish schools while honoring and embracing the rich cultural heritage of their Syrian roots. These educators serve as cultural facilitators, fostering a safe and productive environment for learning and growth.

By supporting Syrian teachers, you are not only empowering them to provide for their families but also investing in a brighter future for entire communities. Change starts with one person, and SKF is committed to long-term impact by investing in people who make a difference.

Inflationary pressures are impacting our university scholarship program. University education, once free for Syrian students, now costs 130,000 Turkish liras (about $5K CAD). Even meal prices have jumped from 1 lira to 15 liras. Many students are dropping out of university due to financial strain and post-earthquake unemployment.

A few months ago, seven of our students have graduated through our scholarship program. Currently, we have 20 students enrolled in our university scholarship program. Nonetheless, there is still a waitlist of over 100 students eligible that need your support.

These are challenging times, but we remain committed to supporting our staff and students. Your continued support, donations, and sharing of our story can make a huge difference in these efforts. Together, we can overcome these challenges.

Please donate today.

Your contributions can make a world of a difference!
